Gertrude Kerbis: Modern Architect
Kerbis studied with Mies van der Rohe at IIT. In 1958, while working at Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM), she designed the dining hall at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. She was a founding member of Women in Architecture and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Institute of Architects in 2008.
